First day of work on the road; Going through packed food

Today we woke up early–right at sunrise (no small feat for us!) and drove up to a hotel on top of a hill with beautiful views of the mountains of Wrangell St Elias National Park. I learned that it’s the largest national park in the US. From their web page:

Wrangell-St. Elias is a vast national park that rises from the ocean all the way up to 18,008 ft. At 13.2 million acres, the park is the same size as Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Park, and Switzerland combined!

Regina started her first day of work from the road. I’m happy to report that she spent hours in video meetings and the Starlink performed flawlessly! I set it on the back of the van. It’s getting pretty good speeds and not using too much power. I’ll go more into our electrical situation in a future post.

Going through the food

Meanwhile, I started looking through the food we packed. Turns out, if you shop at Costco, you can end up bringing more food than you might need! But this trip is likely to take us 10-14 days, so we may manage to get through a lot of it.

Current location: Wrangell-St Elias National Park, Alaska. This evening, we’re driving up to Tok, Alaska, and onward towards Canada!
